rice-o-meal

clara's eating food now. well pseudo-food. she started trying rice "cereal" on 10/1. and that went pretty well. she eats a few bites a day. it seemed to have kind of constipated her cause she's usually like clockwork. but now she seems to have gotten back to her old schedule. since the 4-day new food waiting period for allergies has ended i made her some applesauce tonight. just steamed an apple and then whirred it up really good in the food processor. i thought it tasted pretty good. clara had two bites and then decided that was it. i did a zooooom bite up to her mouth and she opened it laughing and i put bite number three in and she made a face and promptly pushed that bite back out with her tongue. made me laugh. i'm not sure if she just wasn't hungry or didn't like it. ahh babies, why can't they just communicate in words? i tried mixing a little formula in with it after a couple more closed mouth responses from clara. meanwhile she whined in her chair. one bite of the formula-apple mixture was enough. she was done. so now she's sitting on the floor next to me squealing in delight while she plays. crush is laying behind her..there to catch her in case she falls over.
